You might need to create a program or have a program created for you; either way it needs to address each of these factors.
Health coaches commonly use rating scales, working with their clients to self-rate on a scale of one to ten. Health and wellness coaches will also encourage people to create short-term (weekly) goals and medium-term goals (three-monthly) as well as an overall vision.
‘Vision’ is a word that gets bandied about a lot in motivational circles. However, having a vision of who or what you want to be does not mean you simply have a one liner (for example, ‘I am going to be healthier’). Wellness coaches such as Fiona Cosgrove suggest that having a vision involves asking yourself:
Who is the ideal me?
How far away am I from my ideal self? Rate this on a scale of one to ten and then reassess with this scale once you are closer to your goal.
What does the ideal me look and feel like? Describe this person, what he or she does, the values they hold, the activities they do, the attitudes they exhibit.
